FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CORNERSTONE PRESS PUBLISHES THE APPOINTED HOUR BY SUSANNE DAVIS
Cornerstone Press of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is publishing Connecticut author Susanne Davis’s debut collection of short stories, The Appointed Hour, to be released on December 7, 2017.
The Appointed Hour, set in rural Connecticut, is about characters whose roots run deep in the land. In one story a woman experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder finds her voice in communion with other women and in another, a Mayflower descendant wrestles with the legacy of a controversial monument that honors his ancestor. These stories shine a compassionate light on a changing rural America. In early praise for the book, Caroline Leavitt, New York Times Bestselling Author of Pictures of You, has called it a “shatteringly original collection.”
The book is available for pre-order on the Cornerstone Press website (www.uwsp.edu/english/cornerstone) and will also be available on Amazon.
Ms. Davis is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and she teaches creative writing at Trinity College and the University of Connecticut.
